PaletteQR ("we", "the site") is a free browser-based QR code generator. This page explains what data is involved when you use it.

1. Your QR code content stays in your browser

Everything you type — URLs, Wi-Fi passwords, contact details, messages — is turned into a QR code entirely on your device using JavaScript. We do not send this content to a server, store it in a database, or have any way to see what you've generated.

2. Cookies and advertising

This site is supported by advertising through Google AdSense. If you're located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you'll see a certified consent message before any personalized ads are shown — this is provided directly by Google, not a custom tool built for this site, and lets you choose whether to allow personalized advertising. Outside those regions, ads may load without this prompt, consistent with applicable local requirements.

Google (and its advertising partners) may use cookies or similar technology to serve ads, personalize them based on your activity across sites, and measure their performance. You can manage or withdraw consent at any time through the same consent message, control cookies through your browser settings, and Google's own use of advertising cookies is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. To turn off personalized advertising directly, visit Google's Ad Center personalization settings — you'll still see ads, just not ones based on your browsing activity.

3. Local storage

Google's consent tool stores your consent choice using its own cookies or local storage so you aren't asked again on every visit. This is managed by Google as part of the consent message described above, not by a custom mechanism built for this site.

4. Analytics

We do not currently use any analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or Plausible) on this site. If that changes in the future, this section will be updated to describe what's collected before it's turned on.

5. Your privacy choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data, and to object to or withdraw consent for personalized advertising at any time — the cookie banner and the Google Ad Center link above are how you exercise that choice on this site. Because we don't operate accounts or server-side storage of your QR code content, there's generally nothing else held about you to request. This section is provided as a general, good-faith summary and isn't legal advice for any specific jurisdiction.

6. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
